If you are interested in becoming a trustee, they are usually chosen during May and June. You may submit a name to the Jefferson County Commission or to any Board member. Call the Business Office if you have questions about this process, 631-2051.
Monthly Board meetings begin at 6:30 PM and are open to the public. If a resident of the District would like to bring up an issue at the monthly meeting, please submit the subject to the Fire Department one week prior to the meeting. It will be scheduled on the upcoming meeting agenda. The meetings are held at Station 1 at 3235 Mount Olive Road

Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes
December 19th 2016
The December 19th t 2016 meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Mt. Olive Fire and Rescue District was called to order by President Dwight Sloan. Other board members in attendance were Walter McCarty, Steve Rusk, Phillip Bagwell and Keith Crawford. Also in attendance was Chief Chris Gamble, firemen Will Cousins, Austin Graham & Jonathan Worchester. No members of the community were present.
Walter McCarty opened the meeting with prayer.
Minutes from November 21st 2016 meeting was reviewed by all. A motion was made by Phillip Bagwell and seconded Walter McCarty to approve the minutes. Motion passed.
The financial statements and the monthly budget info were presented by Keith Crawford.

77 calls were responded to with 16 Transports. Average response time was 6:26(68% less than 5 minutes)

Dwight Sloan advised he has not spoken with the county about possible Grant money. He said hopes to meet with them soon.
Board Meeting dates for next year was discussed. It was decided to continue with the Third Monday of each meeting @6:30 pm at MOFD Station 1.

Chief Gamble stated Engine 903 is in need of repair. He said it is leaking rear end oil. President Sloan advised to go ahead and have necessary repairs done.

Board President Dwight Sloan presents Denise McDuffie an appreciation plaque. Denise accepted on behalf of the City Fultondale Dispatchers. They have handled all our dispatching needs for the last 15 years. The department is now being Dispatched by the Jefferson ounty 911 center in Center Point.
