FIREHOUSE SUBS PUBLIC SAFETY FOUNDATION AWARDS MOUNT OLIVE FIRE DISTRICT EQUIPMENT GRANT

Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has awarded the Mount Olive Fire and Rescue District a grant to purchase a custom skid unit for wildland firefighting. The skid will provide firefighting personnel the capability to fight wildland fires, grass fires, and brush fires effectively and rapidly.
The Mount Olive Fire District would like to thank Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation for their commitment to public safety. Thanks to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, firefighting personnel are better prepared to respond to wildfires in the Mt. Olive fire district, as well as the surrounding communities when mutual-aid is requested.
The Mount Olive Fire District received $12,700 to purchase a custom skid unit that will be equipped with a 225 gallon water tank, a fire pump, and hose reel with 200’ of hose. The unit will be mounted on an existing service vehicle.
The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which provides funding, life-saving equipment and educational opportunities to first responders and public safety organizations, allocates funding in five areas: life-saving equipment, prevention education, scholarships and continued education, support for members of the military, as well as disaster preparedness and disaster relief. Created in 2005 in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, The Foundation has given more than $24 million to public safety organizations throughout 46 states, Puerto Rico, and Canada, benefitting 2725 organizations and counting.
