Volunteer With Mt. Olive Fire Department
Do you enjoy helping others? Do you like to see a job well done? Do you want to be part of something bigger than yourself? If you answered "yes" to these, your community needs you!
No prior experience in public safety or emergency response is required - we provide in-house training as well as opportunities for outside training.
You don't necessarily have to fight fires to be helpful - there are plenty of other roles that need volunteers, such as emergency medical services, citizen assists (e.g. helping to get persons back on their feet after minor falls), traffic control at accident scenes, logistical support (e.g. preparing and delivering water to extended fire incidents), staffing the Community Safe Room during severe weather, and many others.
Due to insurance regulations and liability concerns, volunteers must be at least eighteen years of age, although we certainly welcome e.g. high school students who want to get a head start on training - there are various non-emergency support roles that they can fill.
If you'd like to volunteer with us, come join us at the next meeting.
